Even a light fall without banging your head and you can get severe effects of concussion as I did and am still doing 8 weeks on. Symptoms became worse after 4 weeks. I found it hard to describe the symptoms. It felt like I was going to pass out or worse than that really. Brain scan showed no evidence so gradually one builds a picture of what may have happened over this 8 weeks and counting. Concussion from what I understand is where neurones 'leak' causing all sorts of effects which are toxic. One thing I noticed very early on is blood sugar regulation was poor, which meant I felt faint/woozy very often. This faint feeling was more so whilst concussion was worse. Exercise/exertion made the concussion worse and it would take a week or two weeks to recover. Saying that after two weeks of just sitting around week 3 to week 5 there was no improvement. I read sitting around after a fews weeks is a bad idea. I noticed walking was okay and I recommend this possibly to try after week 3 or 4. It seems that in first few weeks rest is best and most likely depends on severity of concussion. My problem is and was that my work is physical and I would try and do a few hours only to feel terrible a few days later, not recommended! Walking again is the way. Currently in the past 3 days or so after 2 weeks of going easy and only walking (this can be one, two, three hours) I am now getting a new feeling of anxiety which builds up throughout the day, though I don't feel anxious normally and don't even feel anxious about my predicament. This I feel is another part of this concussion. Maybe a new phase (time will tell) or level not experience so far. I feel the neurones are still leaking but causing the anxiety instead of more severe effects. First day of anxiety was quite intense, but day 3 today and it's not too bad. I went for a 1.5h walk today so we shall see what tomorrow holds. I have found breathing in and out slowly 5 seconds each way can make symptoms disappear for a few minutes or so. It is certainly worth trying. More to come!
